Stanislav Hrivňak
A former GLS student born in Bardejov. He studied in Kosice at the University of Pavel Jozef Šafárik, where he got master´s degree in Theoretical Physics and a doctoral degreein Biophysics. He is currently a full- time PhD student. In his talk, he will try to explain why we need Mathematics and Physics in today´s medicine and he´ll also tackle the question of computer intelligence.
Suzanne Verschueren
From her experience, "going on Erasmus means going to a new country, meeting people from all over the world an learning about new cultures." She's attended this programme twice, once to study at a university in Finland and once to do her intership in Slovakia. These challenging experiences included some happy moments, but some scary ones as well. During her conference workshop, she will share why it is important to experience being abroad, to step out of comfort zone and to say YES to our opportunities.
Lenka Vaňková
A former GLS student born in Bardejov and a postgraduate of the University of Matej Bel in Banská Bystrica. She currently Works as a Third Secretary at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Beijing where she takes care of consular affairs, education, health and sport. Her talk will introduce you to the world of diplomacy. She likes to read a good book, particularly in foreign languages. She´s also into travellling.
Anton Repka
A former student of GLS and currently the PR manager of the Pohoda festival. After graduating with a mass media and communications degree, he worked as a TV journalist for TA3 for some time. Working for one of the best European festivals united his three passions: music, marketing and writing. He'll talk about what PR managers do and how to promote an event, which lasts for only three days, out of the whole year.
Daniel Viglaš
Curious & courageous with a special afinity to hacking the system. In his 25 years of experience, he has been to a couple of countries undertaking various oppotunities. He studied international business in the Netherlans and Germany and his Master´s in finance in Denmark. While on an intership at PayPal in Poland, he started his journey in Exponea as #27 Currently, he is enjoying the Slovak start- up with over 150 colleagues. He´ll describe what it is like to work for the fastest SaaS ( software as a service) growing company in Europe, which is, surprisingly, based in Slovakia.
Michal Sládek

Michal Sládek is an architect humanist. He founded a Housing Program for People in Need, which is an NGO. Housing is one of the basic human needs and a human right, yet even in 2018 it is not an achievement of everyone. In his talk, Michal will explain how difficult it might be to gain a home, what political implications it has and what could possibly be done in this matter - jumping from a planetary scale to a case study in Prešov. During the lecture, the audience will be asked about their housing dreams and expectations.
Martin Rovňák & Tomáš Valentiny
Martin Rovňák has been the Head of the Department of Environmental Management at Prešov University since 2011. His research work is dedicated to the field of system management and technologies for the protection of the enviroment. Tomáš Valentiny is a PhD student at the Department of Environmental Management at Prešov University. Their presentation, entitled "So That Man Will Not Damage the Heavens and the Earth" ,will tackle thhe most serious environmental issues we face today.
Juraj Šott
After an inspiring year at the high school of Falmouth Academy in Massachusetts, Juraj decided to study in Britain. He took his undergraduate course of History and Russian at University of Sheffield, which led him to the national archives in Bratislava and to Russian St. Petersburg where he taught English. Later, he returned back to the isles where he did social and cultural anthropology at University College London. His interests range from education, community organization up to social entrepreneurship.
Justyna Kepa
Although she claims to be a Jersey native, she was born in a small town in Markuszowa, Poland. She is currently a teacher of English and Social Studies at an international school in the UAE. Previously, she taught English in Bardejov as a Fulbright Teaching Assistant. She's also worked with middle and high school students in Washington, DC. She graduated with a Bachelor's in International Studies and Secondary Education from American University in Washington, DC. She loves to travel, cook, paint and is always looking for andventure. Her talk will comapre the Slovak, American and Emirati school systems.
Allan & Caulene Bussard
Although born in Canada, Allan and Cauene haave lived in Bratislava since 1991. In 1995, Alan co-founded IntegrA, which is an economic development agency that focuses on enterprise solutions to poverty. Their vision is to create "opportunities for the disadvantaged". They operate Fair Trade factories in Kenya, Rwanda and Ethiopia. These factories process coffee, macadamia and cashew nuts and give work to nearly 300 hundred women from African slums. Their talk will stress the importance of Fair Trade and introduce the work of Integra.
